During the Open Space on Drupal and Education I scribbled some rough notes as folks introduced themselves and outlined their interest in the broad topic.
Distilling that interest into its purest essence, I'dsay that Drupal in Education is about Learning Drupal, Teaching Drupal and Using Drupal to support Teaching and Learning.

The government has been engaged in the development of a new nation wide curriculum for some time now. The curriculum authority ACARA is currently calling for feedback and survey responses on the General Capabilities.
You need to register to view the General Capabilities and to respond to the consultation online.

I'm running a full day Inkscape workshop for ICT in Education Victoria on Wed 14 September 2011 at the Statewide Resources Centre in Carlton (150 Palmerston Street)
It's aimed at absolute beginners - new to Inkscape and new to vector drawing in general.

Goodness me, it really is only a week away now. The best linux and free and open source conference I've ever ever been to. This year linux.conf.au is in Wellington, New Zealand at http://lca2010.org.nz . LCA2009 was fabulous, LCA2008 was brilliant, LCA2007 was awesome and LCA2006 was inspiring. I expect LCA2010 to be better than all of them. Combined.
No Pressure Guys ;)
The Welly10 team, slaving and sleep-deprived, have been putting the finishing touches on a well-executed plan. I truly fear they are putting all of us who went before them to shame.
Here's what I'm looking at doing in Wellington next week.

I've been crazy busy of late, and seem to be suffering the same fate as others in that I'm using micro-blogs for the quick updates and burning need to express those 'top-of-mind' thoughts, rather than posting here to http://kattekrab.net - Ah well.
Not that you care. I don't imagine these rare postings of mine are missed much by anyone! :)
So what have I been up to? Conferences. Again. Ya'd think I would have learnt to keep away from these unmitigated stress-fests by now. Oh no. Not me. Never learn, Can't be told.

Deep into preparations for the Inkscape tutorial I'm giving at linux.conf.au in Hobart in January, I've been practicing techniques and recording them using RecordMyDesktop. It is a Linux application that does exactly what it says, screencast and audio recording of what's happening on screen. It works very well!

I'm sitting in Roland's session on Web 2.o bling at the 2008 conference for ICT in
Education Victoria (ICTEV), Like VITTA this teacher association is focussed on supporting teachers use of Info and Comms tech in schools for learning and teaching.
A week or so ago I put out a call to some of the owners of the LCA XOs to ask if I could borrow their machines to show to teachers at the conference.
Huge thanks to all of you who came through and agreed to help out.
