Mere words seem inadequate.
Tears speak volumes.
Compassion overflows.
Condolences for the unspeakable loss of life of loved ones, pets, stock, wildlife, bushland.
Condolences for the ongoing horror of serious injuries requiring months and years of rehab.
Condolences for destroyed homes once filled with the tangible momentos of families lives.
I'm so very very sorry.
I am nearly old. Old, as opposed to young. And I am beginning to experience the phenomenon known as remembering.
I picked up a postcard last night... trumpetting Australia's first ever Youth Forum. What about Priority One? The Youth forum we had when I was a youth? I'm feeling cynical.
I'm also remembering the dust cloud on the last hottest day of my life - I was in primary school. Strange billowing red clouds seemed to tower in the sky before descending to cover everything in a light gritty dust.
In order to illustrate Peter's definition of unpleasant... I took this screenshot of my weather widget.
Jon Cruz posted this:
These people didn't come to LCA this year, and I keenly missed their presence. This post is a wishful plea to the universe that I might get to catch up with them somewhere sometime this year.

linux.conf.au is an amazing event. I did not truly appreciate this fact until LCA2009 in Hobart. I had a brilliant time at the conference, saw some good sessions, caught up with fantastic people, and generally basked in the giddy reality of a total lack of responsibility for anything. Ghosts never mentioned the intoxicating feeling one has at the conference immediatly following the one you've organised.
Even still, I had my share of tasks...interspersed with frivolity and freedom.
Meaning to post for days. I've been doing so much else. Finally getting around to it now.
